Beatrice the Dog needs a home
Meet Beatrice, an exquisitely eared Rat Terrier, who was rescued with five other dogs from a backyard breeder. For most of her 13 years, Beatrice stayed in a crate with brief visits to a small yard covered with brick pavers. The first time she set foot on grass was a shock, but she adjusted quickly. Today Beatrice is learning how wonderful life as a dog can be! And you'd never know where she came from as she is one of the happiest, friendliest dogs we've ever met. She wags her whole body in joy at being petted and talked to, and she was in awe when she discovered the TV in her foster home. (She's a perfect TV buddy.) Beatrice has no teeth--a condition which doesn't keep her from enjoying meals or licking you profusely but does give her a cute little "tongue-out" grin. Beatrice has no issues with dogs or cats. In fact, she seems friendly with all other animals. She takes a few minutes to warm up to new people but has no fear or aggression issues. She has even met the grandchildren of her foster parents and was happy to get affection from them. Having lived in a crate for so long, Beatrice does not understand house-training. Her foster family is trying hard to get her to understand, but it is a slow process. Her adopters will need to be patient and allow her space to have mistakes. At just under 10 lbs., she makes tiny "mistakes," and cleaning them up is a small price to pay for the absolute JOY that Beatrice brings to everyone around her.
